The firm specializes in renovations, restorations and modernizations of large-scale commercial, institutional and government buildings as well as construction of new facilities.
Grunley’s portfolio of work is varied, featuring projects on some of our nation’s most iconic structures including the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, National Archives Building, National WWII Memorial and the U.S. Capitol Building.
Grunley’s diverse portfolio spans across the Mid-Atlantic Region, including the Commonwealth of Virginia. The firm has safely worked in Henrico County, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Falls Church County, and Loudoun County to renovate esteemed structures and protect historically significant artifacts; expand educational facilities throughout the region to accommodate rapid growth; and build mission critical facilities to support our government.

Grunley's Renovation Experience
- Over the past 25 years, Grunley has completely modernized or otherwise significantly renovated and/or restored 98 historic facilities.
- Of this number, 80 of the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
- These buildings date back to the mid- to late-1800s and through the 1920s, 1930s, and World War II era.
- Twenty-seven of the buildings are National Historic Landmarks (NHL); 85 buildings are situated within a National Historic Landmark District, and five National Memorials (e.g., The Washington Monument, National World War I Memorial, National World War II Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument).
- This is a rare U.S. government distinction given to roughly three percent of the buildings on the NRHP for its national-level historical significance.
- Grunley’s total registered historic experience includes 37 million square feet of space valued at more than $5.5 billion.
